Small-molecule team visits cooperation partners in Greece

Simon Hanio & team detailed colloidal dynamics of bile fluids in response to a poorly water soluble drug substance, Perphenazine. By combining readouts from DLS, SANS, AUC, NMR, and other methods they detailed exciting adaptations in morphology and, arguably surprisingly, these adaptations did not impact the fraction of free drug substance. Congratulations to this very detailed and accurate contribution!

As of February 23, 2021 Katharina Dodt completed her PhD with the defense of her thesis entitled „Monitoring enzyme activity by using mass-encoded peptides and multiplexed detection“. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Marco Saedtler! As of December 17, 2020 he successfully defended his thesis entitled „Pharmaceutical formulation strategies for novel antibiotic substances utilizing salt formation and two- and three-dimensional printing techniques.“

Congratulations to Katharina Dodt and team! They published their methods paper entitled “A complete and versatile protocol: Decoration of cell-derived matrices with mass-encoded peptides for multiplexed protease activity detection” in ACS Biomaterials Science & Technology!

Congratulations to Johannes Wiest & team. They outlined an approach to make photo-unresponsive drug substances (unresponsive in terms of their physical-chemical properties) photo responsive by ion-pairing these to photo-switchable counterions. Apparent solubility, dissolution rates, and supramolecular structures of the drug substances became controlled by light!

Alexander Gamboa (University of Santiago de Chile) and Nina Schüßler published teir review article “Delivery of ionizable hydrophilic drugs based on pharmaceutical formulation of ion pairs and ionic liquids”! Congratulations to Nina and team!

As of October 20, 2020 Tobias Miesler completed his PhD with the defense of his thesis entitled

"Development of diagnostic systems targeting the human tongue as a 24/7 available detector." Congratulations!!!

Katharina Dodt published an article in ACS Bioamterials entitled "Mass-encoded reporters reporting proteolytic activity from within the extracellular matrix". It provides an approach allowing the measurement of protease activities from within the extracellular matrix, deploying enzymatic binding of reporters and isobaric mass encoding strategy. Congratulations to Katharina & team!

Björn ter Mors published an article in PharmInd entitled "Comparison of polysorbate 20 qualities". It provides an update for formulators regarding differences (or similarities) of Polysorbate 20 qualities. Congratulations to Björn & team!

Congratulations to Tessa, Valerie and team! They published their exciting drug targeting manuscript on Interleukin 4 in a mouse model system of arthritis in the Journal of Controlled Release.

Congratulations to Marco, Niclas & team! The detailed the antibacterial efficacy of some Anacardic Acid derivatives in their manuscript just coming online with ACS Infections Diseases!

We congratulate Tobias for his publication in ACS Biomaterials resulting from his coop with Dr. Wimschneider and Prof. Brehm from the University of Erlangen! The publication covers unorthodox approaches leading to easy to handle and distribute diagnostics - a feature particularly interesting in our current days! The contribution was selected for "Editor's choice" and is available free of charge on the ACS homepage.
