Congrats to Matthias Ruopp and Coworkers for publishing a novel FAP targeting Interleukin-4 Bioconjugate!

On 26 June 2023 Matthias Beudert defended his PhD thesis "Bioinspired Modification and Functionalization of Hydrogels for Applications in Biomedicine." Well done!

Congratulations to Björn & team for the development of peptide based matrix-metalloproteinase responsive sensors for the machine-independent detection of inflammations of the periodontium!

Shoutout to Alena & team, who published a paper on the design of PEGylated VEGF bioconjugates. Well done!

Björn & team have published an article on the drug release of cytokines depending on the upregulation of Matrix Metalloproteinases in inflammation. Congratulations!

Matthias Ruopp developed the first transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for therapeutic gases! His TTS generates the gas and releases it through a special membrane across the skin into the underlying tissues. A patent is pending, he published this contribution in the Journal of Controlled Release (JCR).

Congratulations to Lena Scheller & team. She developed a powder-form microemulsion adsorbed to a metalloorganic framework (MOF). Once the powder reaches the stomach, the MOF disintegrates, releasing the adsorbed molecules that readily form a microemulsion. The concept might be an interesting oral delivery form for poorly water-soluble drugs. A patent is pending, the article has been published in the European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics (EJPB).

On 12 December 2022, Niklas Hauptstein completed his PhD with the defense of his dissertation entitled "Site directed molecular design and performances of Interferon-α2a and Interleukin-4 bioconjugates with PEG alternative polymers". Congratulations!

On December 6th, Benedikt, Debora, Eduardo, Kristin, Rafael and Prisca each presented a poster on their research projects at the ChemSyStM 2022 in Würzburg. Prisca was awarded with the prize for the best poster in the field “Food chemistry and Pharmacy”. Many thanks to the JCF Würzburg for organizing this lively event!
